Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 13, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Feji ("we", "us"), operated from California, United States. They govern your use of the Feji app and website (the "Service").
Three things worth knowing up front. Feji tallies who owes what on a shared list, but it never moves money and is not a payment service. Use-it-up reminders are estimates, not a food-safety guarantee. And recipe and product information comes from third parties, so check labels yourself for anything that matters to your health.

1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By downloading or using Feji, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Feji. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Feji only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. Feji is offered only in the United States and Canada.
2. What Feji Does
Feji is a personal grocery-list service. It lets you create and organize lists, assign items to stores, order aisles, record prices, set a trip budget, scan supported product barcodes, complete shopping trips, view shopping history, and receive suggestions based on prior completed trips.
It also includes:
- recipe browsing, search, and favorites, and importing ingredients from a recipe page or cooking video you share into the app;
- a weekly meal planner that turns planned meals into one shopping list;
- optional live shared lists, with owner, editor, and view-only roles;
- an optional split that tallies who owes what on a shared list;
- optional reminders to use food you bought before it is estimated to go off;
- spending insights and per-item price history;
- optional notifications, a home-screen widget, a shopping-trip Live Activity, and Siri shortcuts for adding items.
Feji is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
3. Accounts and Access
- You must sign in with a valid Apple or Google account. Feji does not issue passwords of its own.
- You are responsible for protecting access to your account and your devices.
- You must provide accurate information and may not use another person's account without permission.
- Access may be gated by a waitlist. If a waitlist is active, your account may be created but held until we enable it.
- We may restrict or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or that threaten the Service or other users. Where we restrict an account, we will make the reason available to you in the app.
- We may require a minimum app version in order to keep using the Service, so that security and correctness fixes actually reach everyone. Keeping the app updated is your responsibility.
4. Plans and Limits
Feji has a Free plan and a Pro plan. They differ in how many lists and items you can create, whether you can use shared lists and how many people can be on them, and access to features including splitting, the meal planner, sharing a recipe link into Feji, price history, and custom aisle order. The current limits are shown in the app and on our website, and we may adjust them as the Service changes.
If your plan changes to one with lower limits, content you already created is not deleted. You keep read access to shared lists, and personal lists stay fully editable, but features above your plan stop being available until you are on a plan that includes them.
In-app purchases are not currently available. Plans are assigned by us, and there is nothing to buy or subscribe to.
4.1 How plans are assigned
Pro is granted by the Feji team, not bought. There is no subscription, no billing period, and nothing to cancel. If you would like Pro, ask us through our contact page.
We may withdraw or change a plan we have assigned, for example if it was given for a trial or a specific purpose that has ended. If we do, we will tell you, and section 4 above describes what happens to content you created while on the higher plan: nothing is deleted.
If we introduce paid subscriptions later, we will publish the price, the billing period, the renewal terms, and how to cancel here before anything is offered for sale, and ask for your agreement before you are charged.
5. Your Content
Your grocery content is yours. You keep all rights to it, and you are responsible for what you enter.
You give us permission to store, copy, transmit, and display your content only as needed to operate the Service for you, for example to sync your lists to your devices, to show a shared list to people you invited, and to keep backups. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies that expire on their own schedule. We do not use your grocery content to train models, and we do not sell it.
6. Shared Lists
Shared lists are optional and off by default. Sharing your own list requires a Pro plan, and anyone can join a list that is shared with them. What using them discloses about you is described in our Privacy Policy.
Treat an invite link like a key: whoever opens it first can join, and it stops working once it is used or expires. Do not put anything on a shared list that you would not want every member to read. You are responsible for who you invite; members are responsible for what they contribute. A list owner may remove any member at any time, and any member may leave at any time.
Shared lists sync in real time, so more than one person can change the same list at the same time. Where two changes conflict, the later one generally wins. Do not rely on a shared list as a permanent record of who changed what.
7. Splitting the Cost of a Shop
Feji is not a payment service, a money transmitter, a lender, or a bookkeeping service, and it does not give financial advice. The split is an arithmetic convenience and nothing more.
- Feji does not hold, transfer, process, or move money, and it does not connect to any bank, card, or payment account.
- The split is calculated only from what members entered: who paid for a trip, and the total they typed in. If those figures are wrong or incomplete, the split will be wrong. We do not verify them.
- The split is based on the trips still held in your history. As older trips age out, they stop counting toward it.
- Feji can open Venmo, Cash App, or the Messages app with an amount prefilled. Sending, receiving, and settling are entirely between you and the other people involved, and are governed by those services' own terms.
- Feji does not know whether a payment was actually made, and marking something settled in the app is a note to yourselves, not proof of payment.
Any dispute about who owes what is between you and the people you shop with. We are not a party to it, and we cannot arbitrate it or reverse anything.
8. Use-It-Up Reminders
Reminders are based on estimates and are not a food-safety guarantee. Feji applies general shelf-life data to food after you buy it, and reminds you about some of it before that estimate runs out. It cannot know how the food was handled, stored, transported, or packaged, what its printed date says, or the temperature of your kitchen.
- Always check the product's own use-by or best-before date and the condition of the food. Where they disagree with Feji, the product wins.
- Food Feji has not reminded you about may not be safe to eat, and food it reminds you about may be perfectly fine.
- Reminders are local notifications scheduled by your device, and Feji does not remind you about everything you buy. They can be delayed or missed if notifications are off, the device is off, or iOS defers them. Do not depend on them.
- Never rely on Feji for any decision involving allergies, food safety, illness, recalls, or the health of a child, an older adult, or anyone pregnant or immunocompromised.
9. Recipes, Shared Links, and Product Information
- Product details from barcodes, and all recipe content including ingredients, quantities and instructions, come from third-party data. That data can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
- When you share a link into Feji, the app reads whatever ingredient information that page publishes. Reading can miss ingredients, misread quantities, or pick up something that is not an ingredient at all. Review the list Feji shows you before adding it.
- You are responsible for the links you share into Feji. Only share content you are permitted to access, and do not use the import to reproduce or redistribute anyone's recipe beyond your personal use.
- Recipe and product content belongs to whoever published it. Feji shows it for your convenience and claims no rights in it.
- Aisle groupings and repeat suggestions are conveniences and may not match every store or shopping need.
- Verify product labels and recipe ingredients directly, especially for allergens, ingredients, nutrition, dietary needs, recalls, or any other health or safety decision. Do not rely on Feji for those.
10. Spending Figures and Insights
Prices, budgets, and trip totals are figures you record yourself, and we do not verify them. Spending insights, price history, budget warnings, and any written summary are derived from those figures and from the trips still held in your history.
They are there to help you notice patterns in your own grocery shopping. They are not financial, tax, accounting, or budgeting advice, they are not a record of any account, and they should not be relied on for any purpose beyond your own reference.
11. On-Device Intelligence
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Feji uses Apple's on-device model to read a shared caption into an ingredient list and to write a short summary of your grocery spending. This is a convenience feature. Output from any such model can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading, so review it rather than relying on it. The feature is available only where the device and operating system support it, and Feji works without it.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, upload unlawful content, harass other members of a shared list, evade account restrictions or plan limits, submit links intended to attack or overload the Service or any third party, or use automated methods that place unreasonable load on the Service.
13. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent, removes your account and grocery data, and cannot be undone. What is removed and what briefly persists is described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account also signs you out, which removes the reminder data, meal plan, and favorites Feji held on that device. Saved payment details stay on the device until you remove them or delete the app.
14. Third-Party Services
Feji relies on services including Firebase and Google Cloud, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Apple Maps, Apple Push Notification service, Open Food Facts, TheMealDB, Sentry, EmailJS, and Vercel. It can also open Venmo, Cash App, and the Messages app at your request. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies, and you agree to comply with any that apply to you. Third-party product and recipe information is provided without endorsement or guarantee by Feji, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of any third-party service.
15. Intellectual Property
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Feji on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. That is the only license we grant.
The Feji app, service, design, code, and branding remain ours and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant permission to copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or reverse engineer the Service, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
16. Availability and Warranty Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AISLE, SUGGESTION, PRODUCT, RECIPE, EXPIRY, SPLIT, PRICE, OR SPENDING INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits any warranty or right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
17. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FEJI AND ITS DEVELOPER WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS INFORMATION, INCLUDING ANY DISPUTE WITH ANOTHER PERSON OVER A SPLIT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS ($50).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
18. Apple
These terms are between you and Feji only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the Service.
- If the Service fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Service.
- Feji, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the Service, including product liability claims, any claim that the Service fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- Feji, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that the Service infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Questions, complaints, or support requests about the Service should be directed to us through our contact page.
19. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a period to export your data before it is deleted.
We may also update these terms. If a change is material, we will give you notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we will update the date at the top of this page. If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account, which you can do at any time. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute arising from these terms or the Service.
This does not deprive you of any protection you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the place where you live, or of any right you have to bring proceedings there. In particular, if you are a consumer resident in Quebec or another Canadian province whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts and to have your local consumer protection law apply, that right is unaffected by this section.
21. General
- Severability. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect, and the unenforceable provision applies to the maximum extent permitted.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Survival. Sections 5, and 7 through 11, and 15 through 21 survive termination of your account.
- Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service, and replace any earlier version.
- Language. These terms are provided in English only.
